MAKE HOUSING AFFORDABLE
You deserve a home you can afford.
But housing is too expensive because Labor and the Liberals give special treatment to the big banks and the property industry. It doesn’t have to be this way.
The Greens have a plan to bring down the cost of renting and buying a home. We will cap rent increases and double the number of public homes.
We will cut stamp duty, saving home buyers $60,000 on the price of an average home.
We’ll pay for it by making the big banks and ultra-wealthy property investors pay their fair share.
Banks making billions in profit, and investors with more than $5 million in homes they don’t even live in, can afford to pay a bit more so everyone else pays less.
END COAL AND GAS
The major parties have failed us on climate change.
They’ve ignored the warnings and kept opening new fossil fuel projects, and now we’re all paying the price. We’re paying with higher energy and insurance bills, more fires, floods and drought, and massive threats to our food and water systems across Victoria.
Labor opened 5 new fossil fuel projects in the past year, even drilling near the 12 Apostles. Liberals and One Nation want more coal, gas and logging.
The Greens are the only ones taking climate change seriously. We’re the only ones with a plan to end coal and gas, because we’re the only ones who aren’t funded by the fossil fuel companies who are causing climate collapse.
The Greens will replace Labor’s coal and gas with cheaper, publicly-owned renewable energy to permanently cut your energy bills and cut climate pollution.
We will end logging for good, ban gas drilling in Victoria’s oceans, and invest in protecting Victoria’s wildlife and nature.
